Counselor's Corner

Meet Your Counselor, Ms. Jenny Thai

Hi, my name is Jenny Thai, and I am the new School Counselor here at Las Flores Elementary.  I have over 16 years of experience in public education. I have over three years of experience as an Elementary School Teacher and over 12 years of experience as an Elementary School Counselor.

From my experience as a kindergarten and fourth grade teacher and School Counselor, I found that there is a need for more counseling services geared toward serving children as a whole.  I utilize counseling theories and approaches to address students’ challenges that affect academic, personal, and social growth. Moreover, I believe in the use of Multi-Tiered System of Supports, which includes Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, for all students to help them succeed academically, behaviorally and social-emotionally.

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with all students through the Second Step classroom guidance lessons.  In addition, I provide a variety of counseling services that include but are not limited to: individual counseling, small group counseling, and teacher/parent consultation. I also try to make myself available during recess or lunch time to check in with students and consult with teachers and other staff members.

I am at Las Flores on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am located in the front office.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at (949) 589-6935 or with any questions you may have regarding the counseling program.
